Friends of Canberra Montessori School

An informal network of people who have been involved with Montessori in Canberra at some stage and in any capacity, the Friends’ interests and activities include:

• organising social activities and reunions
• involvement in School matters  (eg workshops, board etc)
• contributing to fundraising endeavours
• contributing to the history of Montessori in Canberra
• facilitating research on the outcomes of Montessori education

The Friends usually organise an annual Montessori dinner in May. The first of these held in 2006 celebrated the release of the history of the school, “Discovering the Child”. The second, held in 2007, marked the centenary of the international Montessori movement.
